What are health inspection reports?

Health inspection reports provide information to the public concerning the results of inspections of government inspected food premises. Typically, food premises are inspected to ensure that proper food handling practices are in place to keep the public safe from food-borne illnesses.

How do I know whether a restaurant is safe to eat at?

DineSafe provides you with information to help you make an informed decision of where to eat.

Before arriving at any conclusions, DineSafe encourages you to review all the inspection records.

Poor food handling practices that may lead to food-borne illness include unsafe cooking practices, obtaining food from unapproved sources, poor employee hygiene, infestations, inadequate dish washing/sanitizing, inadequate refrigeration.

What type of food premises do you provide inspection reports for?

Examples of food premises that sell or serve food to the public include restaurants, pubs and lounges, hospitals and care facilities, food and espresso carts, coffee outlets, delis, bakeries, butcher shops, grocery stores, and more, including temporary events where food is sold.
The purpose of the inspections is to assure that food is being handled properly from receiving through preparation to serving.

What does the most recent inspection mean?

The most recent inspection is a snapshot in time and reports any issues reported by health inspectors.

Who inspects the food premises?

Food premises are inspected by certified government public health inspectors. DineSafe only reports the findings. We are not involved in the inspection process.

Is DineSafe free?

Yes!

Is DineSafe affiliated with any restaurants or associations?

No. DineSafe is an independent service run by passionate individuals in the dining community. We are NOT affiliated with any restaurant or association.

How does your review system work?

DineSafe uses a 5 point review system which allows you to rate your experience. These are shown in the form of magnifying glasses.

What does DineSafe do with my personal information?

We take privacy very seriously and do not share your information with third parties. Please take the time to review our privacy policy so you can see exactly what we do with your personal information.

How do I verify my DineSafe account?

When you've completed the registration process, you will receive an email with a special link. Click it to verify your account. When the verification message arrives in your email in-box, click the verification link, or copy and paste it into your browser. Your account will be verified at this point. If it doesn't work please contact us.

How do I post a review?

You can post a review once you have signed up as a member at DineSafe.com

How do I change my account information?

After you login, click on the Account Profile link located on top of the page, then click Edit.
