Dinesafe.org Joins Oklahoma's Environmental Health Professionals in Tulsa

Dinesafe.org Founder and CEO Patrick Quade joined the Oklahoma Society of Environmental Health Professionals (OSEHP) for its 72nd Annual Educational Conference, held October 21–22, 2026, at the Osage Casino Hotel in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The conference brought together environmental health professionals, public health officials, and industry experts to discuss current challenges and developments in environmental and food safety.

The Oklahoma Society of Environmental Health Professionals brings together professionals and inspectors working across food safety and environmental health throughout Oklahoma. As a state affiliate of the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA), OSEHP supports professional development and collaboration among those dedicated to protecting public health.

Patrick presented on the topic of “Turning Public Complaints into Food Safety & Outbreak Intelligence,” exploring how consumer-reported foodborne illness experiences can complement traditional inspections and public health surveillance.

Consumer reports can help identify potential patterns of illness that may warrant further investigation. When systematically reviewed and analyzed, these reports provide an additional source of information for food safety professionals, supporting efforts to recognize emerging concerns and strengthen outbreak detection.

These reports do not replace laboratory findings or official investigations. Instead, they offer another source of intelligence that professionals can assess alongside existing evidence to inform their work.

Dinesafe.org thanks OSEHP President Andrea Rice, the board, and all members who welcomed Patrick to Tulsa. Connecting with the professionals working on the front lines of environmental and food safety helps advance conversations about how consumer-generated data can support public health.
